Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz / 3 cups) fresh cranberries

  • 1 medium apple, peeled and diced

  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped

  • ½ cup orange juice (fresh squeezed if possible)

  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar

  • ¾ cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ½ cup raisins or golden raisins

  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger

  • 1 cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

  • Pinch of salt

  • Zest of 1 orange

                Instructions

    1. Combine Ingredients
      In a medium saucepan, add cranberries, apple, onion, orange juice, vinegar, sugar, raisins, and ginger.

    2. Add Spices
      Drop in the cinnamon stick, cloves, allspice, and salt. Stir well.

    3. Simmer
      Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low and simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes. Stir occasionally until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.

    4. Finish
      Remove from heat, discard the cinnamon stick, and stir in the orange zest. Taste and adjust sweetness or vinegar as needed.

    5. Cool & Store
      Let cool completely. Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
